A typical Twitter tweet:
”Join @sh!tforbrains for a live webinar starting in 5 minutes at http://we-have-sh!tforbrains.com/live-webcast-blah-blah.”

5 minutes from when? What time zone? WTF? Keep reading this short rant because there is something very, very useful to learn that is virtually guaranteed to actually help those of you with sh!t for brains get what you really want: engagement.

I won’t name you by name but every day one or more of you that belongs to the Sh!t For Brains Club submits tweets like the one shown above. You know who you are and because you simply have no concern for the rest of us or the work that went into what you f*cking dummies want us to click on and get involved with I had to take the time to write this and scold you because I am completely out of patience with those of you with sh!t for brains.

The only good thing about this is that I now have a nearly full swear jar full of quarters that I am going to spend laughing at all of you who do not know how to engage people when making announcements on the WWW because quite frankly I never click a link without an indication of the date and time the event is being held as lack of such information is a clear indication that some f*cked up weasel is trying to trick me into loading their web page hoping I might click on an ad.

So thank you for helping to fill my swear jar but what does it take to use some common sense or may I (we) assume you really, really do have sh!t for brains, you really hate your job and you really don’t give a rat’s @ss about engagement? For the most part reality irrefutably proves the latter but for those who are mature enough to learn from the mistakes of others there is a solution.

Anybody can easily create their own ad hoc Date Time Event Grammar to let people know when an event is going to occur but the best way to learn about and use such a grammar is by simply loading the page that documents the METROtweet Date Time Event Grammar.

Note the grammar was created for a Twitter app I developed for METROmilwaukee.com but this is not about that app it is about the Date Time Event Grammar I created for those interested in being most successful when announcing an event. So just drill down through this METROtweet link to access the Date Time Event Grammar Documentation and you won’t have to secretely go through life knowing your were once a willfully stupid person with sh!t for brains.
